As I complete this masters certificate program in Art history, I am stricken by the lack of representation of women and artists of color over the centuries. I understand the historical reasons behind their exclusion due to the makeup of the ruling class, however I now question its impact on the Eurocentric artists I idolized, and how homogenous that group is. Now, as an adult, I must make the effort outside the education system to inform and dedicate myself to gain a wider understanding.
